flashes of pink in the blue

You could hear them before you ever caught sight of that pink.
If only I had a stellar lens to my little camera to catch those feathers!

That would be a flock of Angels!! Do they ever drop those fantastic feathers?? I know I would be scrubbing around in the mud looking for treasures... :)

I scoured the ground for any feathers, but no! Not a single barb of a feather. But I haven't given up hope! The other day I got a Long-eared Owl feather —granted I stalked them to a pine tree, but still...

We have barred Owls here, they are freakishly loud at times, but I haven't found any feathers... my best find is a beautiful Heron feather - long, curved and dark grey-blue. It was under a nest tree, I spied it as I was driving along a waterfront road, you can bet I slammed the brakes to grab it!! My Northern Flicker feathers are the best to do paintings of, though - incredible colour.
Happy Birthday...

Thank you, Sheryl!
What a lovely find, the heron feather— and the Northern Flickers! One of my favourites is the moustachial feather of a Great Bustard— a gift :)
