no twitter, no youtube

This is what you get when you try and access YouTube in Turkey now, and forget about Twitter— the page will never load. I don't know what to say anymore. I'm not surprised, but things are getting so depressing. Local elections will take place on Sunday, and I admit that I have little hope that anything will change.

Today there was a report in the news that someone in Turkey leaked an audio tape of a meeting in which officials of the Turkish govt discussed attacking their own Turkish people and then attributing the attack to Syria. You know what would come next. You might not want to post this comment, but You should know why access to social media has been restricted.

Thank you Carol. We are aware of the leaks, and it's real scary... The thing is, I'm wary of how much I can say about the entire situation. Things are getting weirder and weirder.

Thank you. We don't know each other, except by your blog, but I do think of you amd send wishes for your safety whenever I read about Turkey.
