so there you are, umpty ump feet/metres above sea level and the though passes through my mind -"who painted that room, how did they get the parquet (sp?) floor up there, where did the doors come from? did they paint the ceiling free hand? well fromm this far away these are the questions that run through my mind but if i were in that room (and speaking of glowing light), i'm sure my mind would be on more enlightened things (maybe 8-))
Harika is the Turkish word for wonderful, marvellous, extraordinary. It has always been one of my most favourite words, for both its meaning and the pleasure of pronouncing it.

It is quite astounding... This monastery however, is quite recent-- I just read that construction had begun in 1978 and ended in 2000.
I do believe the paintings are done with a plan, then painted in. They are so complex.
