ooof, leech bites not fun - way back in the dark ages when i was at boarding school in Mussoorie, India (hill station in foothills of the himalayas) we used to raid the dining room tables of all the salt during monsoons, during walks to school from residence if leeches attached, salt would be applied and leech would shrivel! Failing that i think that one would wait until leech gorged itself and then could be flicked off....
Harika is the Turkish word for wonderful, marvellous, extraordinary. It has always been one of my most favourite words, for both its meaning and the pleasure of pronouncing it.

I suffered two leech bites for that photo!
